Lots of CONGRATULATIONS!

We’ve had lots of our friends have exciting things happen in their lives, so we just wanted to send a big shout out to them all, and send them our love and congratulations!

Congratulations to newlyweds Gillian and Ryan – who got married in August. We are so sorry we were unable to attend your wedding – in the end it just wasn’t doable with Caleb! We hope to meet Ryan soon, and hope you get to meet Caleb soon! (And I lost your e-mail address – so please e-mail me soon!)

Congratulations to Deenu, Anika and Kaari on purchsing their first house! Caleb loves going to Kaari’s house to play!

Congratulations to Heather and Darryl on the birth of their son Matthew – who arrived October 13, 2005. He is adorable and we can’t wait to get the Caleb and Matthew together for a playdate! We hope all is going well with the new family.

Hello to our friend Mel who just moved to Canmore – we are happy you made it safe and are settling in. Sorry we missed you when we came to Vancouver. We hope you have a chance to meet Caleb soon. (And a shout out of thanks to John for letting us stay with him! Caleb misses Ella!)

Congratulations to our friend Miranda on her recent engagement to Sean! Yay! We hope we can make it to Montreal for your wedding in the future!

Caleb sends great big baby hugs and giggles to you all!

Cheers,
Ally, Adam and Caleb

A Camping We Will Go…

Caleb went on his very first camping trip this weekend. (Note: It was also mom and dad’s first camping trip together in 8 years!! – Thanks to the Patels and Herds for all their help!) We went up to Lake Cowichan with Kaari, Anika, Deenu, Marilyn and Brad and had a blast!

Our campsite:

The babies behaved beautifully and slept well… the bigger boys had fun on the boat and in the lake… and the women rested and relaxed at the beach and around the campfire. Caleb is in love with the movement of the trees and had lots of smiles for everyone!

Here’s the happy camper:

With his buddy Kaari:

Kaari has some fun in the lake with Deenu:

Our family at the lake:

Thanks for the fun times Anika, Deenu, Karri, Marilyn and Brad!

Happy Anniversary!

Today we celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. We’ll be leaving Caleb for the first time – the grandma’s are babysitting. Hopefully all goes well!

Happy anniversary Squishy’s dad!

2 1/2 weeks to go…

… will it ever end??

It is fantastic to be off from work, and to be able to put my feet up and nap whenever I want. Except for the fact that I am nesting badly – I’ve been cleaning everything, organizing stuff and trying to get the house in order.

The only other downer, aside from the uncomfortable big belly, is also my wrist. I fell a few weeks ago at work and I was more concerned about the baby, than the rest of me. With all the swelling that was going on, I didn’t notice the pain in my wrist. However, the last few days it has gotten worse. I am faced with the decision of going for x-rays… or just living with the pain until after the baby arrives.

All of which is why… 2 1/2 weeks seems like a very long time! Come on Squishy!!

Oh, How We’ve Grown!

Squishy has grown quite a bit in the last little while – I can now feel every little movement he makes – and they are getting really strong! Especially those ones in the ribs! My belly has grown right along with him. And now I feel huge! Luckily last week I still felt cute. We had some maternity pictures taken by our wedding photographer. They turned out fantastically. Hope you enjoy them!

U2 Rocks!

We our back from our trip to the mainland, and the U2 concert was fantastic! Squishy loved it and was dancing, jumping and kicking around. He is definately a classic U2 fan – he prefered their older stuff to the newer stuff… manybe because mommy plays the new stuff in the car too much! Anyway, the concert was wonderful. The circular stage was awesome and they really play into the audience – and walked around so they faced everyone (even the people behind the stage). My only regret is not sneaking in a camera to get a few shots! Oh well.

Here is the list of songs they played during the concert:

Vertigo tour- 04/29/2005 GM Place – Vancouver, British Columbia

The Electric Co. / Miami / Send In The Clowns / I Can See For Miles

We had a fantastic time! We also did some shopping and got Squishy a few outfits from the Carters, GAP and OshKosh outlets, some classic pooh stuff from Target, and a footstool/toybox from Ikea.

Definately a fun get away before Baby Squishy arrives!
