Caleb goes to the Olympics

On Monday, Ally, Caleb, Megan and Grandma Doc came to visit me in Vancouver where I’ve been staying during my volunteer shifts. We all met at Waterfront station and then made our way over to the Olympic flame.

Next Grandma Doc wanted to go to Birks. While we were there, they brought out an Olympic torch.

Next stop was the Hudson’s Bay Company where it was insanely busy. Following a lunch at White Spot, we headed to Robson Square, where Caleb tried his hand at hockey.

Then, as quickly as they came, it was time for them to head back. It was a nice surprise to have them visit.

Some news…

Sorry for not updating the site in a very long time.  Lots has happened in the last few months.  My sister got married – and we were all involved in the planning and the wedding.  Caleb started another year of preschool.  And well… the biggest news…  I `ll let the pictures speak for themselves!

I`m going to be a BIG BROTHER!

10 weeks pregnant!

Dute date is April 13, 2010.

What have we been up to…

Life continues on at the Ell household.  The last few weeks we’ve been busy in the garden, planting, weeding and adding a little more life to our yard.  Caleb loves digging in the dirt and moving bugs to new “homes” on the other side of the yard.

Adam also decided it was time for Caleb to have his first driving lesson.  Imagine my surprise to open the front door and hear Adam say… “push that down to show that you are turning left”… as Caleb is sitting in the drivers seat of our car.  Being the responsible child that he is, Caleb did have my Infant Massage doll straped safely into the carseat in the back!

Dad can I have the keys please!

Happy May everyone!

Halloween Sad Storey

Well today we took the pumpkins down to Thrifty’s to throw them in the compost bin.  Caleb didn’t quite get the concept because as I heaved the Mario pumpkin into the dumpster a look of shock and distress fell upon his face.  I disposed of the other two pumpkins and when I turned around he was standing there covering his face looking like he had just lost his best friend.

After some consoling from Mom (and a sticker from the compost lady), Caleb shuffled back to the car.

Poor kid…

Halloween “Scary” story

Caleb was not happy about Halloween this year.  To him, everything is scary… hair cuts, public washrooms, peas, and his race car driver costume – which he picked out.  At the annual Halloween party at Tracey and Brenden’s, Caleb refused to wear a costume – in fact he wouldn’t even take his coat off.  At our annual Halloween party (pictures to come), he was the only child not wearing a costume – and he was the host.  So after some screaming, scary movie style, and some bribing (hello giant lollypop), we managed to get him into his costume.  It was kind of like wrestling with an octapus, only with more shreking!  Anyways, once we were out the door and he had the concept of trick or treating, he was all for it.  He and his buddy Kaari were practically running from door to door, and we had to help them carry all the candy they ended up getting.  Oy!  The teenage years are going to be scary!

Oh, and incase you were wondering – we had around 250 trick or treaters – then we ran out of stuff and had to turn off the lights, and yes we all had a great time.  Thanks Aunty “Lissa” for helping with the door.  The annual Halloweeen parties were fun too!
